Bobby Jindal Slams Anthony Weiner at Values Voter Summit

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal slammed former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner at the Values Voter Summit over the weekend. During his speech, Jindal said “I can make Louisiana the last place that anyone who wants to in any way harm a child by exposing children to inappropriate material.” Jindal added that “I can make Louisiana a dangerous place for Congressman Weiner to relocate to.” Weiner announced his resignation in June after admitting to tweeting lewd photos of himself to a women on Twitter.

Jindal surprised the audience when he revealed that Louisiana has “even required chemical castration of certain offenders on the first offense and required it on their second offense.”

The Values Voter Summit was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC between October 7 and 9. The event was made newsworthy by Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s straw poll victory and Robert Jeffress’ comments on Romney’s Mormon faith.

Paul won the Values Voter Summit straw poll with 37 percent of the votes. Pizza magnate Herman Cain took second place with 23 percent of the votes and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum came in third with 16 percent of the votes.

Robert Jeffress, a Rick Perry supporter and a pastor in Texas, told reporters at the Values Voter Summit that Mormonism is a “cult” and that “Mormonism is not Christianity.” Jeffress’ comments created a new wave of controversy for Perry. However, Jeffress’ comments were dismissed by many of the GOP candidates over the weekend as a distraction from the real issues that matter in the GOP race.
