CBS president Les Moonves donates to Roy Blunt, Fiorina

The State Column | Monday, December 06, 2010

It seems the latest news organization to come under fire for campaign contribution is CBS.

A report filed with the FEC shows CBS president and CEO Les Moonves donating $5,000 to the Rely on Your Beliefs PAC. The organization, which supported Republicans in the 2012 mid-term election, then donated heavily to political candidates, including California U.S. Senate candidate Carly Fiorina and Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Roy Blunt.

The FEC filing shows Rely on Your Beliefs contributed $5,000 to Republican U. S. Senate Carly Fiorina of California two days later. Among those also receiving a contribution from the organization include Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dino Rossi (Washington state), U.S. Senate candidate Ken Buck (Colorado) and Pennsylvania U.S. Senator-elect Pat Toomey.

The revelation follows MSNBC host Keith Olbermann who donated to two Democrats in the lead up to the mid-term election. Mr. Olbermann was subsequently suspended by MSNBC for four days. MSNBC said at the time that Mr. Olbermann had violated terms in his contract.
