New York real estate mogul Donald Trump is keeping the idea of a presidential bid alive, saying over the weekend that he is still considering entering the 2012 election.

Speaking Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” Mr. Trump said he could still enter into the race if he does not believe the eventual Republican nominee could beat President Obama.

Speaking Monday, Mr. Trump said he believes both former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney would be strong candidates, however, he has yet to endorse either front-runner.

“It’s a great thing when you can show that you’ve been successful and that you’ve made a lot of money and that you’ve employed a lot of people,” Mr. Trump said on Fox News. “I actually think it’s a positive and I think that actually Mitt Romney is starting to do that. You know, at first he was a little bit hesitant about it and now he’s out there … So I really think it’s a positive.”

The New York real estate mogul has previously said he is considering entering the 2012 race. Mr. Trump he said there is a high level of public dissatisfaction with both the Republican and Democratic parties, and the right independent could have a shot at winning the presidency.

Mr. Trump said if he decides to get into the race, it would be after the conclusion of his reality television show The Celebrity Apprentice, which premiers on February 19th on NBC.
