Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels is headed to Washington.
The Indiana Republican will give a speech about educational change at a conservative think tank in Washington. Mr. Daniels will speak May 4 at the American Enterprise Institute. Spokeswoman Veronique Rodman says Daniels chose to talk about education policy.
The speech comes as Mr. Daniels is expected to announce whether he will enter the 2012 Republican presidential election. The Indiana Republican has remained increasingly mum on his intentions regarding the race, simply saying he remains focused on the current legislative session. Mr. Daniels has said he will announce his decision following the current legislative session, which is scheduled to end at the end of the month.
This will be the governor’s fourth high-profile trip to Washington since mid-February and it comes as House Republicans continue to debate federal funding, including education funding.
