New Mexico governor Susana Martinez seems to have found a new wave of support, according to a Public Policy Poll released Wednesday.
“Her disapproval is up a bit from February, when she rated 53-29. She benefits from strong crossover support. 32 percent of Democrats approve of her while only 56 percent disapprove. Martinez would fare well in a do-over of the 2010 election,” Public Policy noted in a statement released to reporters.
Fifty-two percent of those surveyed said they approve of the job Ms. Martinez is doing, while 37 percent said they disapprove.
The poll comes as the New Mexico Republican has taken charge of a series of wildfires in the state. Ms. Martinez has issued a state of emergency as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
