Moonlight Bunny Ranch Owner: ‘I’m pimping for Ron Paul’

The State Column | Wednesday, January 04, 2012

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul secured the endorsement of Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof. Mr. Hof announced Monday that he is endorsing the Texas congressman for the Republican presidential nomination.

Mr. Hof runs the Moonlight Bunny Ranch, a licensed brothel in Mound House, Nevada that gained national notoriety in the early 2000s when HBO created a series focusing on the life of Mr. Hof and the women on the ranch.

“I’m pimping for Paul,” Mr. Hof posited to 1200 WOAI news.

The HBO star also revealed that he was close to endorsing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, because he is a “cheater.”

“We thought real closely about supporting Gingrich — because he’s a cheater — and we like cheaters,” Mr. Hof confessed.

When Mr. Hof polled his employees, the majority of them selected Mr. Paul based on his commitment to state rights, which makes sense considering Nevada’s unique legalized gambling, legalized prostitution and nonrestrictive alcohol regulations.

“Nevada basically tells the fed, ‘We don’t care what you think. We’ll run our state. It’s the last place for state’s rights,” Mr. Hof said.

In 2008, the Moonlight Bunny Ranch owner endorsed President Barack Obama, but claims that his support for Mr. Obama faded after he signed a bill allowing horses to be slaughtered for human consumption.

“That was it. Nobody wants to know that guy anymore,” Mr. Hof said.

Mr. Hof has more than 20 wild horses that live on his Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Nevada.

According to The Daily Caller, the brothel is offering a two girls for the price of one special for the month of January, if customers come in and say “I’m pimping for Ron Paul.”

The Texas congressman scored an endorsement from pop music star Kelly Clarkson last week.

The American Idol winner received a boost in album sales and a great deal of support from Paul supporters on Twitter, the day after she stated that she was endorsing him. Mr. Paul touted her endorsement during a “Rock The Caucus” event at a high school in Iowa Tuesday.

Mr. Paul and his campaign staff have not publicly commented about the endorsement from the Nevada brothel owner.
