N.H. election results: Mitt Romney wins

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has been declared the winner of the New Hampshire primary, according to CNN.

The race was called with 11 percent of precincts reporting.

Mr. Romney has 36 percent of the vote with 9,000 votes tallied in his favor. Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul and former Utah Governor Huntsman are currently battling one another for second place, with Mr. Paul leading Mr. Huntsman by ten percent. Mr. Paul has the support of 24 percent of voters, while Mr. Huntsman has the support of 14 percent.

The former Massachusetts governor was projected to win the race. Recent polls showed Mr. Romney with a double-digit lead in the Granite state.

Mr. Romney, who won Tuesday’s Iowa caucus, now heads to South Carolina, where recent polls show him leading among Republican voters.
