A new poll out of Alaska shows support for former Alaska governor Sarah Palin at an all-time low.
A new poll released Thursday finds nearly half of Alaskans have a “somewhat” or “very” negative feeling of their former governor.
Ivan Moore Research finds that nearly half of all Alaska voters view Ms. Palin in negative terms. Forty-nine percent of the 647 registered Alaskan voters it polled said they felt negatively about Ms. Palin , while only 39 percent say they held a positive opinion of Ms. Palin.
The poll comes as the former Alaska governor continues to consideri enteirn ghte 2012 race for the Republican presidential nomination.
Ms. Palin, who has increased her national profile in recent weeks, launched a nationwide bus last month, before abdandoning the media spectacle after just one week.
The former Republican governor recently sprkaed speculation over a potential bid frot he 2012 nomination, travleing to Iowa for the debt her a document focused on Ms. Palin’s vice presdiential run with Arizona U.S. Senator John McCain.
While support for Ms. Palin has decline in Alaska, the former Republican governor has performed well in a series of recent polls, often capturing a significant portion of support amongst Republican
The former Republican governor downplayed rumors last month that she has reached a decision regarding the 2012 race. Her daughter, Bristol Palin, sparked rumors, telling reporters that Ms. Palin had reached a decision.
“You know, she definitely knows. We’ve talked about it before. Some things just need to stay in the family,” the younger Palin said.
“I said you remember Bristol what we talk about on the fishing boat stays on the fishing boat. I don’t know what she said. She said I have to watch it myself. I don’t know what she said but still thinking about it,” the former Republican governor said in response.
