The latest poll out of Pennsylvania spells may signal trouble for the Obama 2012 campaign.
According to the latest Public Policy Polling, Pennsylvania’s looking like it could be a very tough state for Mr. Obama in 2012. His approval rating in the state currently stands at 42 percent, with 52 percent of voters disapproving of him.
The president is within the margin of error when paired against a number of potential Republican presidential candidates, including former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
Mr. Obama will face different challenges in the state as he begins the 2012 presidential campaign. The state recently elected Republican governor Tom Corbett, while Republicans continue to control the state legislature.
The poll is the latest to find Mr. Obama’s approval rating slipping. Following the bombing of forces in Libya, an earlier Quinnipiac University poll found Mr. Obama’s approval rating at an all-time low. In that poll, half of registered voters say Mr. Obama does not deserve a second term, while 41 percent say he does.
