The State Column | Friday, December 16, 2011

Today, U.S. Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) honored Rhode Island’s National Guard Company D 126 TAC who returned from Iraq this week on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In his remarks, Congressman Cicilline paid tribute to the service of troops from Rhode Island and across our nation who served in Iraq, and the memory of the thousands of Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“With the homecoming of our troops from Iraq, we must keep our promise to our veterans. On the battlefield, the military pledges to leave no soldier behind. As a nation, let it be our pledge that when they return home, we leave no veteran behind,” said Congressman Cicilline.

All American combat troops are scheduled to be brought home by December 31st.
