Donald Trump may endorse Mitt Romney, Herman Cain

New York real estate mogul Donald Trump appears ready to make an endorsement for the 2012 Republican primary race, as he announced his plans to endorse before the end of the year.

“Within a month probably sounds good — maybe a little bit more than that,” Trump said on Fox and Friends this morning. “But I’ve got a good, good sight on everybody. I have a lot of respect for a lot of them. We have some good people.”

In September and October, Trump held meetings in New York City with Republican nominees Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Michelle Bachman and Herman Cain. The Apprentice star is unlikely to endorse Utah governor Jon Huntsman, whom he took to twitter to voice his opinion of in late September.

Trump tweeted the following in reaction to Huntsman’s spokesman Tim Miller’s comments saying his candidate would not be meeting with Trump, after news of Trumps’meetings with his rivals surfaced.

“@JonHuntsman has zero chance of getting the nomination. Whoever said I wanted to meet him? Time is money and I don’t waste mine.”

Trump himself was rumored to be a candidate for the Republican primary throughout the earlier part of the campaign trail, but announced over the summer that he would not seek to run.

He also appeared on CNBC Thursday following the November 9th Republican nominee debate and called Rick Perry’s memory lapse gaffe “terrible,” while he was complimentary of Cain and Romney’s performances.
“If the Republicans come up with the right candidate, I believe that candidate will win,” said Trump to CNBC.
