Washington state U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell raised $1.2 million the first quarter of 2011, the Associated Press reported Thursday.
Ms. Cantwell’s fundraising report shows that she has about $1.3 million in the bank. She also listed $2.2 million in debt, an amount that has little changed over the years, the Seattle PI reported.
The Washington state Democrat continues to raise money ahead of the 2012 election, while awaiting a potential Republican contender. Among the names floated as a possible challenger to Ms. Cantwell is former King County executive candidate Susan Hutchison.
